Movement & Integrative Services
Restore balance, improve mobility, & support whole-body pelvic health
Our movement and integrative pelvic health services combine evidence-based physical therapy with whole-body strategies.
Functional Movement Assessment
A functional movement assessment evaluates how your body moves during everyday activities like squatting, bending, lifting, and walking. Instead of focusing only on the pelvis, this assessment looks at the entire movement chain- including hips, core, breathing mechanics, posture, and joint mobility.
Movement patterns often contribute to pelvic floor dysfunction, low back pain, or hip discomfort. By identifying restrictions, imbalances, or compensation patterns, we can create a targeted treatment plan to improve mobility, coordination, and stability while reducing strain on the pelvic floor.
Breathwork & Core Coordination
Breathing and pelvic floor function are closely connected. The diaphragm, abdominal muscles, and pelvic floor work together to regulate pressure in the core. When this system is not coordinated properly, it can contribute to symptoms such as pelvic pain, incontinence, prolapse, or persistent core weakness.
This service focuses on restoring optimal breathing patterns and reconnecting the diaphragm, deep abdominal muscles, and pelvic floor. Through guided breathwork and targeted exercises, we help retrain your body to create better core support, improve posture, and support more efficient movement.
Pelvic Floor-Friendly Strength Training
Exercise should support pelvic health- not worsen symptoms. Pelvic floor-friendly strength training helps individuals safely build strength while protecting and supporting the pelvic floor.
Sessions focus on proper exercise mechanics, core coordination, and pressure management during strength training activities. Whether you’re returning to exercise after pregnancy, managing pelvic floor symptoms, or simply want to feel stronger and more confident in the gym, we help you develop safe, sustainable training strategies.
Yoga & Mobility for Pelvic Health
Gentle mobility and yoga-inspired movement can help reduce tension, improve flexibility, and support nervous system regulation. This approach is especially beneficial for individuals experiencing pelvic pain, muscle tightness, or stress-related tension patterns.
These sessions combine targeted stretching, mobility work, breath integration, and mindful movement to promote relaxation while improving pelvic and whole-body mobility. The goal is to help your body move more freely while supporting long-term pelvichealth and comfort.
Nervous System Regulation & Pain Management
Persistent pelvic pain often involves the nervous system as much as the muscles and joints. When the body remains in a heightened stress or protective state, muscles may stay tense and pain signals can become amplified.
This integrative service incorporates education, relaxation techniques, breathwork, and gentle movement to help regulate the nervous system and reduce pain sensitivity. By supporting both physical and neurological healing, we help create amore sustainablepath toward long-term symptom relief and improved body awareness.
Movement-Based Care for Whole-Body Support
Pelvic health is closely connected to how the entire body moves. The pelvic floor works together with the core, hips, spine, and breathing system to support stability, mobility, and everyday function. When movement patterns become restricted, imbalanced, or strained, it can contribute to pelvic symptoms such as pain, pressure, instability, or difficulty returning to exercise.
At Lotus Pelvic Health & Wellness, our movement and integrative services in Avon, Connecticut focus on restoring efficient, comfortablemovement throughout the body.
